The city of Wellington has, from= to-day, had its area increased by the inclusion of Wadestown anEl Uoldie's Brae, which formerly constituted the South Ward of the Borough of Onslow* comprising a population df considerably over 800. By the terms of the amalgamation the City Council takes over loans amounting to from £2,000 to £2,600. Some days ago the Wellington Chamber of Commerce cabled to Sir , Joseph Ward urging him to institute a weekly service to England from New Zealand by way of Sydney and Suez, in view of the breakdown of the San Francisco tervice. Sir ' Joseph Ward has cabled the following reply: "I will be glad to do my. utmost to help the matter forward."
