ELLERSLIE NOTES,
By Telegraph—Press Association,
AUCKLAND, March 27,
No work of importance was done at Ellerslie this morning, all the horses being restricted to medium pace work. King Billy and Moriarty are both recovering, and were out doing trotting exercise this morning. The former is apparently sound, but the latter is still very sore. WORK AT RICCARTON. CHRISTCHURCH, March 21. It was an off day at Riccarton this morning. Replete covered half a mile on the plough in 50sec. Half to steady pacing was accomplished by the others. After breakfast Buccleuch was sent a mile at threequarter speed. Evenlode and Narcissus were companions in a schooling task over six hurdles. Both gave a good exhibition. John Peel was an absentee; an injury he received yesterday will prevent his fulfilling his ■engagements.
