THE TRANSVAAL.
SIR RICHARD SOLOMON. Received March 25, 8.43 a.m. LONDON, March 24. Sir Richard Solomon will organise the Transvaal's Agent-Generalship. _ (It was recently cabled that Sir Richard Solomon was going Home with Premier Botha. The above message apparently seeks to explain his mission).
FAREWELL BANQUET TO THE PREMIER. Received March 25, 9.35 p.m. PRETORIA, March 25. Mr Louis Botha, the Premier, who is leaving to attend the Colonial Conference in England, was tendered a farewell banquet at which there was a large and representative gathering. During the course of a speech, Mr Bothajappealed to all to work socially together if not politically. "Now that we live under one flag," said Mr Botha, "and are subjects of one Empire, let our quarrels cease. Let us forget our differences, and let us meet personally to assist each other to adjust the difficulties. We trust Great Britain, and want Great Britain to trust us." (Prolonged cheers).
