LAWN TENNIS.
Received March 24, 4.41 p.m. SYDNEY, March 24. The tennis tournament was concluded in fine weather. The finals for the championship attracted a large attendance. Parker's success in the earlier stages of the Now South Wales Singles Championship left him to fight out the final with Horace Rice, of New South Wales. A splendid struggle resulted in the Welshman defeating the ex-New Zealander by 6—4, 6—3, 3—6, T> 7, 6-1. Rice secured the first two sets. Parker placed the next two to his credit. In the final tussle Rice carried all before him. Rice played with great judgment and power. Parker showed tine resourcefulness and science, but was somewhat lacking in his usual d&fh towards the close of the game. In the Ladies' Single Championship Miss Payten (holder) beat Miss D. Gordon, 6-2, 6—o. In the gentleman's Double Championship Wright and Jones defeated Pockley and Rice, 6—2, 6—3, 4—6, 6 all.
