OPAKI QUOITS CLUB.
4P (Special to the Age). There was a large number of the members of the Opaki Quoits Club present at Wyeth's grounds on Saturday last. The men's monthly match was won by R. Hunt, with S. Tankersley second, and A. Chamberlain third. The ladies had a very enjoyable afternoon, as two matches were played. The monthly match for Mr H. Christensen's trophy was won by Mrs Thomas, Miss M. Campbell being second. For Mr C. Petersen's trophy, for all non-winners, there was keen competition. Miss Chamberlain was eventually declared the winner, with Mrs S. Tankersley a very close second. At the afternoon adjournment, Mr Searte (Vice-President) presented Mrs Duckett with Mr Taylor's trophy, which had been won at the previous matches. Mr Wyeth (President) notified that Mr and Mrs Searle had each kindly donated trophies for the ladies. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the donors, and also the ladies who served afternoon tea. A dance was held in the evening.
