CHRISTCHURCH, March 22. The competitions under the auspices of the New Zealand Fire Brigades Association were brought to a highly successful conclusion this evening. The following are the results of the day's proceedings: — Three-men Hydrant and Union Event.—Timaru, 33 2-ssec, 1; Caversham ,34 3-ssec, 2; Napier, 35 1-5 sec, 3; Eastown Railway, 35 l-ssec, 4. As will be noted Napier and Eastown Railway tied for third honours, but the latter preferring not to run off gave Napier third money by default. Alarm and Disabled Hose, for five men (first prize £4O, second £2O, third £ls, fourth £lO, fifth £s). Dunedin City, 57 l-ssec, 1; Christchurch, 32 l-ssec, 2; Dunedin Railway, 63 2-ssec, including Isec penalty, 3; Timaru 64 2-ssec, 4; Greymouth, 65 l-ssec, 4sec penalty, 5. Also competed.— Westport, 39sec, 2sec penalty; Petone Railway, 38 1-5 sec; Hillside Railway, 41sec, 2sec penalty; Parnell, 40 2-ssec; Nelson 35 l-ssec, lsec penalty; Gisborne, 38 4-ssec, 2sec penalty; Pahiatua, 44 4-ssec, lsec penalty; Stratford, 36 1ssep; Napier Railway, 3d l-ssec, 1 sec penalty; Naseby, 36 3-ssec, 2sec penalty; Alexandra, 3S 3-ssec, 4sec penalty; Dunedin South, 35 3-ssec; St. Kilda, 37 4-ssec, 4sec penalty; Spit 35 4-ssec, Rangiora, Lawrence, Hastings, Auckland, Palmerston, Eden, Terrace, Fitzroy, Christchurch Railway, Petone, Dunedin, Feilding, Ashburtoh. Disqualified—Adding ton Railway, Geraldin-% Invercargill Railway, Gore and Waihi. In the rescue event decided yesterday Stratford ; and Waihi tied at 26 2-ssec for fourth place. In the runoff this morning Stratford won in 26 l-ssec, Waihi putting up 27sec.
