IN EXPLANATION.
(To the Editor). Sir,—With reference to the case, heard in the S.M. Court, yesterday, Howell and Co. v. H. Banton, your report of same is somewhat misleading. Certain money was paid into Court by Mr Banton, and is claimed by us. We are not leading plaintiffs in the case, and simply took action to protect ourselves.—We are, etc., ROSS AND GREENFIELD, Land Agents, Masterton. Masterton, March 21.
