MASTERTON ST OCK SALE. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Masterton atoclc sale as follows: Notwithstanding the recent rough weather we submitted a heavy yarding of sheep, and a fall yarding of cattle. At the start of the sale bidding was irregular, but improved as the sale progressed, and we have to report an almost total clearance in both sheep and cattle. The demand for best sorts of breeding ewes was keen, all young sheep selling readily at full rates. Good sorts in wethers were also keenly competed for, but backward inferior stuff was hard to quit. We quoteSheep: Best .breeding ewes (mixed ages) 165," others 15s lid, 15s 6d, 15s 3d, 15s 2d, 15s, 14s 6d, 14s 3d. 14s, down to 12s 6d, 2-tooth ewes 15 s to 16s sd, inferior 12s to 13s 6d, fat and forward ewes 13s to 14s 4d, back- 1 ward ewes 9s to lis 6d, culls 5s to 7s 3d, lambs (shorn inferior) 7s, 2-th wethers 15s 6d to 15s lid, black face wethers 14s to 15s 7d, inferior wethers lis 3d to 12s. Cattle: Fat cows £4 7s to £4 12s 6d, cows and calves £3 Is to £3 7s 6d, inferior £2 Is,' store cows £2 to £3, steers £3 Is to £3.175, 3-year steers M 15s to £4 Is, mixed weaners, best 30s, others to 25s 6d, empty heifers 35s to 42s 6d.
