MASTERTON HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Masterton Hospital Trustees was held in the Borough Council Chambers yesterday morning. There were present —Messrs A. W. Hogg, M.H.R. (chairman), M. J. H. Jackson, J. B. Keith, J. C. Ewington, F. W. H. Kummer, and W. Harris. The Treasurer reported as follows: —Balance at last meeting, £95 9s sd; receipts for the month, £1,037 17s 6d; disbursements, £1,168 3s sd; balance at date, £34 16s 6d. Accounts amounting to £6213s 4d were passed for payment. The Matron reported that there were fifteen patients in the Hospital at last meeting, nineteen had since been admitted, and eighteen discharged, leaving sixteen patients at present in the institution. On the recommendation of the Matron, it was decided to procure a laundress and cook for the Hospital. The Chairman and Messrs Ewington and Keith were appointed a committee to purchase bedsteads for the new Hospital. The Matron was requested to furnish a list of the linen required for the new Hospital. Miss Ethel Lloyd, who had been a probationer nurse for three months, and whose work has been satisfactory, was, on the recommendation of the Matron, appointed a permanent nurse on the staff. The estimates for the coming year were drawn up, and it was decided to forward them to the Wairarapa District Hospita%'Board.
