DROWNING FATALITY.

By Telegraph—Press Association. WESTPORT, March 18. A double fatality occurred at Coalbrookdale on Saturday night, Mrs Freyer and a two-year-old child being drowned in the Waimangaroa River. At the inquest held to-day the evidence failed' to disclose how the deceased came to get into the water, but it was surmised that the mother with the child in her arms had fallen over the embankment of the river about 8 o'clock on Saturday ' night, and had been drowned. Mr and Mrs Freyer and their child had only recently arrived from the Old Country.;
