TINUI.
(Prom Our Own Correspondent)
TINUI. March 15. The garden fete in aid of the Parsonage Fund was held on the 9th ir.st, in one of Mr D. H. Speedy's paddocks. The .spot chosen was an ideal place for"the function. The beautiful native bush, with its numerous shade, 1 ? of green glistening in he sun, the clematis in full bloom creeping up the trees, and the thousand jacket trees, made a splendid picture. In the foreground stood majestically the magnificent Taipos, reminding one of the famous Gibraltar rock. Temporary foot-bridges were erected across the river ;,to where the bazaar was held. In fact, everything was done to make the function novel as well as pleasant. Mrs Nevins (the secretary) and the various stall-hol-ders worked hard, and are to be complimented on their efforts to make the fete the success it was. It will be gratifying to them to know that over £IOO was taken at the fete. The following were the stall-hol-ders : Parish stall, Mesdames Dickens, Groves, Speedy and Perry; fancy work and toys, Mrs Nivens, Misses Morrison (2), and Mrs J. H. 'Cameron; sweets s'. all, Misses Perry , and Fowler; knitting, Miss Brading; 1 sheep-guessing competition, Mr A. [ Campbell; Aunt Sally, Mr A. A. | Goodridge.
