KIA KAHA HOCKEY CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Kia Kaha Hockey Club was held in Mr J. L. Hughes' Rooms last evening. Mr J. B. Rue presided over an attendance of fourteen members. The Secretary presented the annual report and balance sheet. The latter showed receipts to. amount to £6, and expenditure £5 3s, leaving a credit balance of 17s.
The report read as follows: —"On handing you the balance-sheet for the past season, I have much pleasure to report that the club has had a very successful season, both financially and when on the field of play. After paying all expenses , and also a debt of £1 12s 6d which was owing to the Reremai Club at the commencement of the season, we now hold a credit balance of 17s. As the club had enough members, it was decided to enter two teams for the Major Cup Competition, viz., the "A" and "B" teams, and both are to be congratulated on their successes. The "A" team was successful in winning the Cup, after putting up the splendid performance of winning all matches played with the exception of one, and also in winning the Seven Aside Tournament played in connection with the Association. The "B" team has the distinction of being the only team to defeat the "A" team during the Cup Competition, and also of getting second to that team in the Seven Aside Tournament. Our President, Mr W. H. Jackson, has kindly promised to donate a trophy for competition during the coming season, the committee to decide how it 'is to be merited.- R. Anderson, Hon.
