RAILWAY MAGNATES ALARMED.

Received March 13, 11.25 p.m., NEW YORK, March 13. The railway magnates are alarmed at the prospect of twenty-eight State Legislatures limiting the passenger rates to a penny per mile. They have asked Mr Pierpont Morgan to assure President .Roosevelt that they are willing to co-operate with the Government in the proper enforcement of the rate law.

President Roosevelt has consented to discuss matters with the presidents of the three greatest railways.
