EARTHQUAKE SHOCKS.

NELSON, March 12. An earthquake shock was felt in this distinct at 5.15 o'clock, this morning, ad was the most severe for some years. At Takaka bottles were broken in shops. The hop-kilns suffered, and in one or two instances chimneys came down. The shock lasted several seconds. . • WELLINGTON, March 12. Two shocks of earthquake were felt in Wellington this morning, one at 5.26 o'clock and the other at 6.30 o'clock. .

Shocks were also felt at Greymouth and Whakapuaka. A sharp shock of earthquake was also felt at Wakapuaka at 10.11 o'clock last night.
