ANTI-CHINESE LEAGUE.
A meeting of the committee of the Anti-Chinese League was held in the Drill Hall last evening. Mr W. D. Ayson occupied the chair, and there were about twelve others present. Several new members were elected. The, Treasurer reported that the League had a credit balance of £6 lis. It was decided to open an account with the Bank of New Zealand. It was decided, on the motion of Mr J. Cameron, to have maps of all the electorates in New Zealand printed, when required for canvassing purposes. ! The committee decided not to answer any anonymous correspondence in the newspapers. Messrs J. Cameron, W. D. Ayson, E. Groombridge, J. Cole and W. "Whittaker were appointed a committee to visit Carterton to arrange for a meeting with a view to forming a branch of the League in that town. Mr W. L. Falconer was elected a Vice-President, of the League. The President, Secretary, and Treasurer were empowered to sign cheques on behalf of the League. > Messrs Whittaker, Ayson, Levien, Cameron, Cole and Groombridge were appointed a committee to draft a code of rules for the League, and submit them to the next meeting of the committee.
