RED STAR CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. d The annual meeting of the Red ? Star Football Club was held in the h Occidental Hotel on Saturday evens ing. ' Mr E. Welch occupied the s chair, and there were about 40 memr bers present. The annual report and balancee sheet were read and adopted, the d latter showing receipts to amount a to £6 165,. and expenditure £9 9s. s All accounts have, however, been ls paid, and the Club will begin the e year free from debt. The election of officers resulted as [ - follows:—-Patron, Mr J. A. Renall; ,f President, Mr J. O'Meara; Vices' Presidents, Messrs A. C. Major, B. Iveson, E. Welch, W. Eagle, A. E. Williams, T. Kemble, J. Scorrar and W. Strang (Gladstone); Captain of Senior team, Mr E. Wrigley; ViceCaptain, Mr W. Darvill; General Committee, Messrs W. Darvill, H. 11 Walker, W. Spring, W. Norman, R. Hunt, and the Captain ex officio; Selection Committee, Messrs Wrigley, Darvill and Iveson; Hon. Secretary and Treasurer, Mr T. G. Hoar; Delegates to Wairarapa Rugby Union, Messrs Wrigley, Darvill and Spring. The Secretary was instructed to endeavour to arrange a match with the Melrose Club, to be played at •Wellington on Easter Saturday.
It was resolved that the medals won last season should be allotted at a future meeting. Twelve new members were elected. The Chairman stated that Mr B. Iveson had decided to donate 15 jerseys to the Seniors. It was decided to thank Mr Iveson for his offer.
Mr E. Welch (Vice-President) has presented a gold medal for competition among the members of the Red Star Senior team this season. The Executive Committee of the Masterton Football Club met, on Saturday evening, to consider a letter from, the Secretary of the Exhibition with regard to sending a team to take part in the football tournament at the Exhibition at Easter. After discussion, it was decided to refer the matter to the members of the senior team for their consideration. The team will meet on Saturday evening next. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union will be held on May 2nd.
