GLADSTONE.
(From Our Own Correspondent). ' Thursday, March 7. Mrs J. Grant, our local postmistress. is away on her annual holiday leave of two weeks. She left tor Christchurch yesterday. Some fine oat crops were harvested -on Longbush this year. Although the area was not large, the crops ot Messrs Bannister and D. Foreman were very heavy, the crop of the latter yielding quite 2h tons to the acre, which must be considered a good yield for the class of country. The yellow peril has reached Gladstone at last! A Chinese gardener paid a visit here, to-day, did not do any business, and soon J left again for Masterton.
