EKETAHUNA.

A pretty wedding was solemnized, to-day, at the residence of the bride's mother, the contracting parties being Miss Emma Sophy Fredrickson, third daughter of Mr Herman Fredrickson, of Eketahuna, and Mr Albert Henry Cox, third son of Mr J. E. Cox, of Mangaraupi. The Rev. Mr Woollas, of Pahiatua, performed the marriage ceremony. The bride was given away by her father, and looked handsome in a cream cloth costume, with hat to match. Miss Doris Dowset, niece of the bride, and Miss Agnes Fredrickson, sister of the bride, were the bridesmaids, and were dressed in cream silk. Ipach carried a beautiful bouquet. The bridegroom was attended by Mr V. Frederickson, brother of the bride, as best man. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a handsome gold ring, set with diamonds and sapphires. The bridesmaids were presented by the bridegroom with a gold brooch and a gold necklet chain and pendant. The wedding breakfast was partaken of by nearly fifty - friends, and well-wishers of the happy couple. The wedding presents were numerous and included a very useful and handsome- lot of silverware. Mr and Mrs Cox left here by the mail train for Napier, where the honeymoon will be spent. Mrs Cox's travelling dress was a grey costume, with a picture hat to match. Last week th§ manager of the Bank of New South Wales (Mr Leversedge) received word of the illness of his mother, who is residing at Christchurch, and he left for that place on Wednesday last. Word has been received by the acting-manager (Mr L. F. Wright) that Mrs Leversedge died early on Tuesday morning.

At St. Cuthbert's Anglican Church, to-day, Miss Edith Ada Marriott, eldest daughter of Mr John Thomas Marriott, of Ballance, was married to Mr Edward Ware, third son of Mr Henry Thomas Ware, of Woodville. The marriage ceremony was performed by the Rev. Kitcat. Mr and Mrs Ware left for their new home at Ballance, to-day. A social evening was held, last night, by the Presbyterian Social Club in the local hall. There was a large attendance of members of the Club and their friends. During the evening musical items were rendered by Misses Ranger, Oxley, Haswell, and Gordon, and Mr McFarlane. The Rev. and Mrs Woollas, of Pahiatua, were present, and assisted in the evening's entertainment. Mr Tocker, who is connected with the local Presbyterian Church, and who will shortly leave Eketahuna, was also present, and spoke a few words of farewell to those present. Mrs Watson, and Miss Hastwell played a number of pianoforte selections.
