THE METHODIST CONFERENCE.

CHRISTCHURCH, March 4.
The Methodist Conference was engaged this morning in the work of its various committees. Prior to luncheon the Conference assembled for the purpose of hearing an address from the Hon. G. Fowlds, Minister of Education. Mr Fowlds received a very cordial greeting, and was welcomed by the President of the Conference. At the representative session it was agreed to divide the Pitt Street circuits, Auckland, into three circuits, to be designated Auckland (Pitt Street), Auckland West, Auckland East circuits. The division of the North Shore and Waitara circuits into two circuits each was also resolved upon. A proposal to divide the South Wairarapa circuit was negatived . The Rev. H. Bull, Con nexional Secretary, presented his reports on property and deeds. He was heartily thanked, and re-appointed, and a ministerial session was held to confirm the work done in comrnitee last week. The Revs. M. A. R. Pratt, A. J. Seanier, B. J. James and James Wilson were received for ordination. The several ministers on probation were passed in their several years. The Revs R. H. Wylie, C. Blair, and' W. G. Maslin, students at the College, were appointed for circuit work.
