INQUEST AT PAHIATUA.

By Telegraph—Press Association. PAHIATUA, February 27. At the adjourned inquest in connection with the death of James Mackay, the report of the Government Analyst on the contents of the bottle from which deceased drank, and on the contents of his stomach, was read showing that the bottle contained nitro benzine, 15 grains of which were sufficient to cause death. The presence of alcohol in the stomach would also accelerate death. The jury returned the following verdict:—"That deceased met his death by drinking nitro benzine in mistake for yeast on February 14th last."
