OPAKI QUOITS CLUB.
(Special to the Age). The monthly competiions" of the Opaki Quoits Club was held at Mr A. Chamberlain's (Mikimiki centre) on Saturday last. The men's monthly contest was won by T. Wyeth, junr., A. Searle second, and J. Campbell third. The ladies played for Mr Taylor's trophy, which was eventually won by Mrs Duckett, Mrs A. Chamberlain being second. At the afternoon tea adjournment Mr S. Tankersley presented Miss Petersen with Mrs Wyeth's trophy for the most points scored during the past year, and Mr A. Searle with Mr T. Wyeth's gold medal for the most points scored during the year in the men's competitions. He also pre sented Miss Elsie Campbell with Mr E. Welch's trophy. Mr Tankersley announced that H rs McLeod and Miss Chamberlain had each donated trophies for the ladies, and Mr A Henderson, of Masterton, had presented a gold medal for the men Hearty votes of thanks were accorded to the donors of the trophies, and also to the ladies who served the afternoon tea. A most acceptable present was made to the club by Mr Blewett, in the form of four pairs of compasses. Mr H,. C. Petersen has kindly donated a trophy to be competed for by all ladies who have not yet won a trophy. The competition will take place next month. The following is the first drawing for Mr Pauling's trophy to be played off by March 16th: —Tlatford 4v. McKenzie owes 4, Chvist«npen owes Bv. Tunnicliffe 10, N. Wvcth Bv. K. Tankersley 1, G. S.
