By Telegraph—Press Association. WESTPORT, Last Night. The Minister of Mines visited and inspected the Seddonville State Mine yesterday, and in answer to a deputation said it was his intention to have further prospecting work carried out in the hope of discovering more coal of a marketable quality, some of the indications being promising. -

To-day the Minister inspected the briquette works which are nearing completion, and met various deputations in connection with matters of local interest, and left by the Arahura this evening for Collingwood, via •Nelson.
