A rather amusing incident occurred at St. Arnaud, Victoria, a few weeks ago, when the Kate Harwarde Company was playing at the St Arnaud Town Hall. It has been the custom for hoodlums to mount the roof of the supper-room and peer through the windows at local entertainments. Mr Harry Craig, the manager of the company, heard the clatter on the roof, and the male members of the troupe surrounded the building. In stentorian tones Craig called for his revolver, and the thoroughly frightened "dead* heads" scampered behind chimneys. A blank cartridge was fired, which added considerably to their terror, Mr Craig then gave them choice of two courses—a hosing with water or a prosecution in the courts. They chose the former, and lined up on the edge of the roof, and were thoroughly soaked. Mr Craig then politely ordered a chair and stand to be placed, "to allow the gentlemen to descend." This experience has taught the "dead-heads" a lesson. Weak Backs. The weak spot in many men and women is the back. It gives cut before the other part of the body.
