THE TRANSVAAL ELECTIONS.
LONDON, February 22nd. The Times correspondent says that the defeat of Mr Cresswell (Nationalist) by Mr Sheffield (Independent), for Jeppestown, a constituency of Mr Cresswell's own choosing, is the final answer of the Transvaalers to the policy of repatriation at all hazards.
The Times declares that the London Stock Exchange anticipates that Continental operators will welcome the Het Vlok-Nationalist majority, ?nd that there will be an influx of foreign money to the Transvaal to assist in the development of the mines. /
