THE SEDDON MEMORIAL FUND.

By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, February 21. Matters with regard to the Seddon Memorial Fund were discussed, today, between members of the subcommittee of the' main Memorial Committee and the Acting-Premier and Attorney-General. The press were not admitted to the meeting. The position that had been arrived at was that hundreds of local bodies had been circularised as to the form the memorial should take. The Committee proposed that it should be a Technical College. To finance this it was proposed that the Wellington City Councii should give the buildings and site of the present Technical School, valued at about £12,000, and that £B,OOO should be raised by subscriptions. That would be £20,000, which, with £ for £ subsidy from the Government, would bring the total to £40,000, the Government, besides, giving an area of from one to three acres of land in the city on which the College would be erected. It is understood that the Ministers held out no hope of the land being given. There is to be a meeting of the General Committee next month to consider the matter. It is stated that the amount contributed by the public to date to the fund totals £IOO. No special canvass has, yet been made.
