U.A.O.D.

The biennial conference of District Grand Lodge of Northern New Zealand U.A.O.D. opened, this morning, about sixty delegates being present, representing Lodges from the North of Auckland to Greyrnouth. At the conference nominations were taken for offices, and amendments to rules were considered. A letter was received from the Grand Lodge Victoria intimating that the District Grand Lodge would be given a Grand Lodge charter. The report of the Board of Management. congratulated the order on its progress, ten Lodges having been added to the roll. The balance-sheet showed that they had added £2,180 to their funds, which now amounted to £9,370. The membership at the end of November was 6,110, an increase of 1,142. The total increase in the Lodge funds was expected to be £9,300. There was £3,336 to the credit of the special levy fund,Jwhich meant that, with the present membership, one in every three levies would be free.
