SMUGGLING OF WHISKY.
Received February 18, 8.40 a.m. LONDON, February 17. Enormous smuggling of whisky by an unknown Irish firm [has been discovered. Spirit was conveyed in underground pipes from a distillery to a duty-paid warehouse. The Revenue Department imposed a penalty of £65,000. An agitation is afoot to secure the prosecution of the firm.
