SLAUGHTERMEN'S STRIKE.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, February 15. The slaughtermen's strike continued. At a meeting, last night, the men decided that as the company had refused to increase their offer from 22s 6d to 235, they (the men) would revert to their old demand and refuse to work under 255. It now transpires that the companies were prepared to pay 23s for freezers, and a slightly lower rate for others, but this offer does not appear to have reached the men until late last night. Hopes of a settlement are entertained.
