MASTERTON TECHNICAL SCHOOL.
MEETING OF MANAGERS. The ordinary meeting of ihq Managers of the Masterton Technical School was held in the Technical School Building, last evening. There were present :—Messrs E. Feist (in the chair), J. B. Keith, W. H. Jackson, J. M. Coradine and E. H. W&ddington. The Treasurer's report showed the receipts to amount to £Bl 8s 5d (voluntary contributions £37 15s 2d), and expenditure £26 17s 6d, leaving a credit balance at date of £54 10s lid. The Treasury v notified that t h e sum of £lB4 12s 7d (for capitation, grants, etc.) had been remitted to, the credit of the School's account at the bank. ■ _ An invitation was received • from the Inspector-General of Schools for a representative of the Managers to attend the Federal Conference on Education to be held in London from May 24th to June Ist. The programme suggested for discussion at the Conference of the Heads of the Education Departments of, the Empire was also forwarded.
It was decided, on the motion of Mr Jackson, seconded by Mr Keith, that , as Mr W. T. Grundy, Headmaster of the Clyde Quay School, would be in London at the time of the Conference he be appointed to represent the Managers. Mr Jackson moved, and Mr Feist seconded, that the Managers take steps to secure a first-class sewing machine for the use of the dressmaking classes at the School. —The motion was carried. The Secretary was instructed to ascertain the instructors who desired re-appointment, 'and to advertise for instructors to fill any vacancies that might occur. Accounts amounting to £53 Is were passed for payment.
