MASTERTON HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.

MONTHLY MEETING.

The monthly meeting of the Masterton Hospital Trustees was held yesterday morning, there being present:—Messrs A. W. Hogg (chairman), .W Fisher, W. Harris, M. J. H. Jackson, F. W. H. Kummer and J. B. Keith. The Treasurer reported as follows : —Credit balance at last meeting, £415 19s 7d; receipts for the month, £I,OBB 10s lOd; disbursements, ,£95 9s sd. The matron's report showed that the number of [patients in the Hospital at last meeting was 17, the number admitted during the month 11, the number discharged 12, one died, leaving 15 at present in the institution. A claim was made by the house steward of the Wellington Hospital for payment of the sum of £1 12s 6d, due on account of a resident of Masterton who had been admitted to the Wellington Hospital. The letter was referred to the District Hospital Board. It was pointed out that there had been several cases where Wellington residents had been admitted to the Masterton Hospital without -any charge being made against the Wellington Hospital Trustees. Messrs Crichton and McKay, architects for the new hospital, wrote reminding the Trustees; who had decided at the last meeting to.mstall gas cookers in the Hospital, that the •original specifications of the building, which had been approved of by the Trustees, provided for a cooking range at a *cost of £55. The architects did not think it right to withdraw the order for the range after the matter hadfeone so far. It was decided to go on with installing both cooking services, thus making provision for any defect or break-down in either service. The case of an old man who had been in the Hospital for 15 months suffering from an injury to the back was mentioned, and it was decided to apply to have the man admitted to the Ohiro Home, as he was now convalescent. It was decided to apply to the Government for payment of the £2,000 grant promised in connection with the new building. Accounts amounting to £7O 17s 6d were passed for payment.
