Mr Evans, a mental specialist, said that he agreed with Mr Wagner's view that Thaw did not know that he was shooting White. He examined the prisoner eight times. He at first suffered from exaggerated ego, but gradually his mind passed from an explosive condition to one of the greatest calmness and stability.
