ATHLETIC MEETING AT WELLINGTON.

WELLINGTON, February 9. The Port Nicholson Amateur Athletic Club and the Civil Service Amateur Sports Club held a combined athletic meeting on the Basin Reserve this afternoon. The weather was beautifully fine, and there was a large attendance of the public, many being drawn • to the ground by the announcement that Kerr, the wajlker, was to attack some of • the existing records. In the Mile Walk he conceded starts up to Imin 35sec. The winner of the event was R. Hayes, with lmin 30sec start. Ashman was second, and Kerr third. Kerr's time was 6min 27 l-ssec, which is 1 l-ssec over his own New Year's Day time, but l-ssec better than the previous New Zealand record made by Creamer, of Auckland. In the Two Mile Walk Kerr conceded starts up to 2min 30sec, and, walking in fine style, won in 13min 55 4-ssec, beating the New Zealand record by 16 l-ssec. The world's record for this distance is 13min Usee. Trace y (2min lOsec) was second, and T. Lambert (Imin 55sec) was third. The One Mile Flat Handicap was won by W. Gosling (15yds), W. McKenzie (120 yds) 2, F. J. F. O'Sullivan (150 yds) 3. Time, 4min 28 l-ssec. The Two Mile Flat fell to M. Mulcahy (70yds), who won by fifteen yards from J. Prendeville (scr) in lOmin 12 3-ssec. Prendeville's time was lOmin 17 2-ssec. The One Mile Bicycle Handicap was won by Sutherland (owe 20yds), with Wyatt (scr) second, and Evison (80yds) third. Time, 2min 18 2-ssec. A. Evison (50yds) won the Half-mile Handicap, with Brunnette (55yds) second, and Wyatt (10yds) third. Time, lmin 4sec. The 120 Yards Hurdles was won by Collerton (scr), with Everson (9yds) second, and McKay (owe 2yds) third. Time, 18 ' l-ssec. The 220 Yards Plat was won by Dawson (syds), with Carruthers (12Ayds) second, and Cunningham (15yds) third. Time, 23 3-ssec. J. Wilton (4yds) won the 440 Yards Flat, A. Burge (28yds) being second, and A. Cunningham (24yds) third. Time, 51 3-osec.
