The following team has been selected to represent Wairarapa against the Marylebone'Cricket Club (England), on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week:—Maunsell, Beechey, Carroll (Carterton), Redmond, Mackellar, Esson, Parton, Perry, Fish, McGurk, Bewley, Prow (Masterton), Hoar, Swan and Waters (Carlton). Emergencies—Bowling, Hall (W.F. C.A.), Williams (Carterton); batting, O'Leary (Carlton), Hart (Cartertori). The visitors will arrive here on Tuesday, 19th instant, by the 12 o'clock train, and the match will commence on the same day at 2 o'clock. Oil the following day play will commence at 11 a.m. The members selected are requested to be on the ground sharp at the time appointed, as the selectors have absolutely decided to replace any member not punctual with one of the emergencies. ' The Wairarapa team is probably the best batting team that has represented the district for many seasons. There is plenty of variety in the bowling. Members of the team are requested to obtain as much net practice as possible this week, so as to be in their best form. The Englishmen, judging from their scoring in the recent matches against Canterbury and Otago, are evidently striking form, and there is every probability of a good exhibition of crirket being witnessed. A meeting of the Reception Committee appointed in connection with the match will be held, in the Bank of New South' Wales, this evening, at 8.30 o'clock.
