AUSTRALASIAN CHAMPIONSHIP CARNIVAL. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, February 7.
The Australasian Amateur Swimming Championship Carnival, which was opened on Saturday last, was continued at the Lancaster Park Baths, to-day, in the presence of a large number of spectators. The results of the chief events are as follow:
880 Yards Australasian Championship.—F. W. Springfield (Queensland)/ 12min 23 4-ssec, 1; R. Healey (New South Wales), 12min 51 2-ssec, 2; W. Mason (Victoria), 13min 12 2-ssec, 3; A. McMillan (New Zealand), 13min 32 4-ss6c, 4. 220 Yards Australasian Breast Stroke Championship.—P. Mation (Western Australia), 3min 26 2-ssec, 1; F. Truscott (New Zealand), 3min 40 l-ssec, 2; P. Menzies (New Zealand) and A. M. Russell (New Zealand), dead heat, 3min 44 l-ssec, 3. 250 Yards Squadron Race.—Australia, 1; New. Zealand, 2. Time, 2min 31 l-ssec. The meeting will be concluded on Saturday afternoon.
