HENDERSON CUP COMPETITION. , CARLTON B v. STAR A. The match between the Star and Carlton B teams was concluded, yesterday afternoon, on the Park Oval, and resulted in a win for Carlton Bby six wickets and 3 runs. Each team had'made 133 runs in its first innings. The Stars, with only seven men, made 26 in their second innings. MacKellar (9), Esson (6), Steward (6), Fish (4) and F. Richards (1) were the only scorers. Long was the most successful bowler for Carlton B, taking three wickets for 10 runs. Requiring 27 runs to win, Carlton sent Long and Tyrrell to the wickets to face the bowling of Fish and Madsen. Before a run had been* scored Tyrrell retired hurt, and Flaws was caught by Madsen in the slips. W. Welch was next man in and he was bowled for nothing, after Long had added 3to score. Denby and Long made a good stand. Long was bowled by Fish for five. The total score was, at this stage 17. J. Wickens, junr., joined Denby, and the pair knocked up the necessary runs.
