THE BOOTH CUP. Four rinks from the Masterton Bowling Club journeyed to Carterton yesterday and played the first round iti the competition for the Booth Cup against the local club. Out of the four rinks played, Masterton only won one.; The total / scores were : Carterton 99, Masterton 88. Afternoon tea, was provided for the visitors by the lady members of the Carterton Bowling Club. Before the Masterton players left for home cheers were exchanged between the two clubs. The detail scores were as follow: ' McPh'ee, Masson, Philpotts, Baillie (skip), Carterton, 24, beat. Gordon, Thompson, Richards, Whittaker (skip), Masterton, 20. Hughan, Downard, A. Booth, Bish (skip), Carterton, 25, beat W. Pragnell, Prentice, Dupre, Coradine (skip), Masterton, 23. Churchell, Lindop,, jnr., White, Dr. Johnson (skip), Carterton, 29, beat Wright, Rose, Scott, Cochrane (skip), s Masterton, 22. Cresswell, King, McEwen, Ewington (skip), Masterton, 23, beat Lightfoot, Lindop, snr., Fisher,* Ramsay (skip), Carterton, 21. A game was also played between the "colts" jof each club. This match- was also won by Carterton by 31 points to 13 points.
