THE MOERAKI FATALITY.
By Telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN, February 6. At the inquest on W. H. Hutchison, who was attacked by a shark at Moeraki, a verdict of death from the effects of a bite of ,4a shark while bathing was returned. The evidence showed that he was standing in the water up to his chest, and his son was diving from his shoulders when he was attacked by the_ 4 shark. The calf of the right leg was 4 torn completely away. He managed to partly swim and was assisted ashore, which he reached in a dying condition and expired almost immediately, although his wife rendered first aid. The bay is infested with sharks.
