The Kempsey plague patient is dead. AN ABANDONED BARQUE. Received February 4, 11.9 p.m. ADELAIDE, February 4. The steamer Midgard has arrived. The captain reports having sighted, on January 26th, twenty miles northwest of Lord Howe Island, the barque Maeldwyn, dismasted and abandoned. There was no sign of the crew. The Maeldwyn was voyaging from Pispio, South America, to Sydney, for orders.
