TAKAPUNA RACES. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, February 2. The Takapuna Jockey Club concluded their Summer Meeting, today, in excellent weather. The sum of £12,135 10s was put through the totalisator, as against £8,764 on the corresponding day last year, making £32,825 10s for the meeting, as compared with £25,006 10s for the Summer Meeting last year, an increase of £7,738 10s. Results:— Marine Handicap, 4 furlongs.— Wauchope, 7.12, 1; Leira, 7.4, 2; Ney, 8.0, 3. Scratched: Pohutu. Won easily. Time, 52 3-ssec. Dividends, £2 Is and £l. Waiwera Handicap Hurdles.— Hautapu, 11.8, 1; Silicia, 9.10,2; Soultfish, 9.6, 3. These were the only starters. Won easily. Time, 3 min 20sec. Dividend, £1 16s. Borough Handicap, 4 furlongs.— Black and Gold, 9.10, 1; Hikuai, 7.6, 2: Omati; 9.4, 3. Scratched: Miss Winnie. Won very easily. Time, 51 2-ssec. Dividends, £3 13s and £2 15s. SUMMER HANDICAP, 1 mile. Syren, 6.10 ... 1 Landlock, 8.10 ... 2 Le Beau, 7.3 ... 3 Scratched: Geordie, Loch Buhi, Bully. A great race. Won by a head. Time, Imin 44 l-ssec. Dividends, £7 12s and £1 17s. Pony Handicap, 5£ furlongs.— Cyrona, 6.10, 1; L?. Annie, 7.2, 2; Sonoma, 8.8, 3. Scratched: Hopscotch. Won by a length. Time, lmin 11 4-ssec. Dividends, £l4 16s and £2 12s. Devonport Handicap.—Omati, 9.0, 1; Miss Winnie, 9.0, 2; Sweet Alice, 6.12, 3. Scratched: Millie, Engraver. Won comfortably. Time, lmin lOsec. Dividend, £3 ss. Ponui Steeplechase, 3 miles.— Pierre, 10.9, 1; Loch Fyne, 10.12, 2. The Frenchman also started. Won after an exciting race by half a length. Time, 6min 17sec. Dividend, £1 16s. r Welter Handicap, 1 mile.—Uranium, 9.2, 1; Bully, 9.0, 2; Freemount, 7.10, 3. Scratched: Akarana, Henry Havelock, Syren. Won by two lengths. Time, lmin 45sec. Dividends, £3 19s and £3. The winning double (Black and Gold and Syren) returned a dividend of £144 16s.
