LONDON WOOL SALES,
Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., Wellington, have received the following cable from London, dated the 30th"} instant:—Sales closed firm and active with brisk competition. Greasy merino wools, prices are on a par with closing rates of November series, except broken fleece and pieces, prices for which are at par to 5 per cent, higher. Merino lambs 5 per cent, higher. Scoured' merino wools- in general, higher by 2J to 5 per cent. Fine crossbreds on a par with closing rates of last series. Medium and coarse crossbreds, 5 per cent, lower. The total number of bales available (including old stock) amounted to 153,000. Out of the {net quantity available for sale, some 77,000 bales have been sold for Home consumption, 60,000 bales for the Continent, 13,000 bales forJAmerica; leaving 3,000 bales to be carried forward to the next series.
