FIRE IN NAPIER.
By Telegraph—Press Association. NAPIER, January 31. A fire broke out about 11.15 tonight in the upstairs portion of a baker's shop and dwelling in Dickens Street, belonging to J. Alexander. The fire had a fairly strong hold when discovered, but there was no wind and the fire was confined almost entirely to the upper part of the building, which'was gutted and the contents destroyed. The bakehouse adjoining was saved. It is not known how the fire originated.
