OPAKI QUOITS CLUB.
Despite the fact that harvesting -operations were general at Opaki on Saturday last, the attendance at the monthly meeting of the Quoits Club was fairly good. The usual contest was won by J. Campbell, Blewett being second and J. Clune third. The final round for Mr J. Nicholson's trophy was played, resulting in a win for E. Petersen. Sixteen ladies competed for Mr E. Welch's trophy, which was won by Miss E. Campbell; Mrs Thomas second. :: I."--- ' : " A
At the afternoon tea adjournment Mr S. Tankersley presented the trophies "previously won as follows: —■ To Mrs Searle, Mr Boyd's trophy, and to Miss Tankersley, Mrs Thomas' trophy. The meeting terminated with the usual vote of thanks to the ladies.
LADIES' CLUB
The annual meeting'of members of the Opaki Ladies' Quoits Club was held on Saturday, upwards of 25 . members being present. The Secretary brought up the report and bal-ance-sheet, which was adopted. The trophy donated by Mrs Wyeth for highest aggregate during the year was won by Miss V. Petersen, and Miss Tankersley's trophies for biggest breaks were won by Mrs Thomas and Miss V. Petersen.
The following Committee was elected:—Mrs Wyeth (re-elected), Mrs Chamberlain (re-elected), Miss M. Campbell (re-elected), Mrs S. Tankersley (re-elected), Mrs T. Welch (re-elected), Mrs Nicholson, Miss A. Wyeth, Secretary (re-lected).
