A DESERVING CASE.

MASTERTON SYMPATHY. Two Masterton ladies have been collecting subscriptions on behalf of the widow and family (four young children) of the late H. Alderslade, who was one of the two unfortunate men that were blown out to sea from Island Bay on Anniversary Day. The sum of £l2 has already been forwarded to the bereaved family, and it is expected that further subscriptions will be received, Alderslade's tragic end having created a considerable amount of public sympathy. It will be remembered that the late Mr Alderslade and his family were formerly residents of Masterton. The list of subscriptions collected to date is as follows: —S. A. Candy 10s, J. ,C.
