LABOR PARTY CONFERENCE. A THREATENED RESIGNATION. -Received January 28, 8.17 a.m. LONDON, January 27. As a consequence of the Labour Conference, by 605,000 votes to against 268,000, refusing to place women's suffrage in the forefront of its programme, Mr Keir Hardie threatens to resign the leadership of the Parliamentary Labour Party. Received January 28, 9.45 p.m. LONDON, January 28. The Labour Conference is in favour of the extension of the suffrage to all men and women, but condemns any proposal to extend it on a property qualification to a section of women as a retrograde step. Messrs Ramsay Macdonald and Shackleton attribute the heavy vote to the resentment against some suffragettes methods. Mr Keir Hardie declares that he will seriously consider his resignation if it is intended to limit the action of the Labour Party in Parliament.
