OBITUARY.

MR T. PICKETT, SENII. On Thursday evening the death occurred at his residence, Whakataki Creek, of Mr Thomas Pickett, senr,. The deceased wad 83 years of. age, and arrived in the colony 53 years ago, accompanied by his wife and children, in the barque "Similar" (Captain Allen) after a passage of seven months. After living in various parts of the Wairarapa Mr Pickett, settled down at Whakataki Creek. The children still living are: —Mr J. Pickett Masterton; Mr T. Pickett, Whakataki; Mr W. Pickett, Pongaroa; Mrs P. O'Connor, and Mrs J. Holes, Tenui; Mrs Dixon, Western Australia; and Miss Kate Pickett. Mrs Pickett died 17 years ago. The funeral will arrive at the Te Nui Cemetery, at 3 o'clock, on Sunday.
