SAD FATALITY.

A sad fatality occurred, to-day, when a i young married woman, Mrs Mary Simmonds, of Maraekakaho, died while under the influence of chloroform, which had been administered in order that some teeth should be extracted. The chloroform was administered by Dr Moore, who had previously examined the deceased, and found her perfectly sound. \ After four teeth had been extracted the patient gave, signs of reviving and was again put under the influence of the anaesthetic. On the second application, which was extremely slight, the deceased nunuemv collapsed from what was evidently heart failure. ' _ Mrs Simmonds was accompanied .by her mother, Mrs Williams, who states that her daughter appeared to be in perfectly good health. The deceased was 26 years of age, and has left three young children. Her husband is a carrier in the Maraekakaho district.
