WAIRARAPA YORKSHIRE SOCIETY.
A general meeting of the members of the Wairarapa Yorkshire Society was: held ip the Club Hotel oii Wednesday evening. Mr E. H. Waddington presided over a large attendance Apologies for absence were received from Messrs W. A. Fendall, W. Cragg and C,. H. Smith. Messrs D. Morton and J. Tinsley were elected members of the Society. The Wellington Yorkshire Society wrote forwarding a copy of their rules. Mr W. H. S. Nicholls, Vice-Presi-dent and Treasurer, wrote forwarding his resignation as he would be leaving Masterton shortly. The Chairman said he was sure that all the members of the Society .would regret Mr Nicholls' departure, as he has been' one of the foremost members of the Society and had always worked assiduously to further its interests. On behalf of the members of the Society he presented Mr Nicholls with a neatly-designed illuminated address, bearing the signatures of all the members of the Society. Messrs H. Collins, G. M. Wood and J. A. Shackejton endorsed the Chairman's remarks. Mr Nicholls suitably acknowledged the gift, and said it had always pleased him to do his utmost for the Society. He wished the Society a prosperous future. The health of Mr Nicholls was then drunk. Mr Waddington was elected to the yacant position of Vice-President and. Treasurer.
