During the afternoon "Waihora" Charlie gave an exhibition of buck-jumping on "Jimmie," a mule of mature years, which was much appreciated by the lookers-on. The public also derived some amuse- ' ment from "Aunt.Sally," and the shooting gallery. Much praise is due to the energetic secretary and treasurer (Mr 'Hugh Morrison), the president (Mr H. 0. Toogood), and the various committees and ground stewards for the efficient manner in which the programme was carried out. In the evening the "Blairlogie" •' Minstrels gave a concert in the Langdale Hall. Before the commencement of the entertainment the chairman of the Hall Committee, (Mr. H. Mor. rison),in a neat speech, declared the new Langalde Hall open. In doing so he pointed out that such a hall as had been erected by the builder, Mr W. Birkett, had been badly "needed ' for some time past by the settlers in this part» of the district, and said that this was proved by the, large number of people assembled oh that evening. In the Minstrel's entertainment Mr H.„ Morrison acted as interlocutor, and Messrs R. Morrison and F. V. Gully were the corner- - men, and all carried out their duties very creditably. Songs and choruses, marches and a cakewalk, were much appreciated, the "gags" calling much laughter from a delighted audience. Mr Harry Hall, of Masterton, character comedian, sang several items, all of which were vociferously encored. In the second part of the programme, Miss Cameron, Messrs H. Morrison, H. Hall and Cameron, contributed vocal selections. The rest of the evening was devoted to dancing whiclvwas indulged .in till the "wee sma' hours o' the morning."
