CANTERBURY v. WELLINGTON. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, January 21. The Canterbury-Wellington match was continued on Lancaster Park to-day. The. weather was fine, and the ground in good order and favourable to batsmen. The play was of an uninteresting character. Canterbury resumed their innings, which closed for 176. Lawrence batted steadily for his runs. None of the others made a lengthy stand. Tucker and Upham bowled well for Wellington, whose fielding was good. The latter, who were 45 runs to the bad, began their second innings, and at]the call of time had scored 123 for five wickets. Cobcrof t and Mahoney made a long stand for the second wicket, adding 68 runs, both playing very carefully. The Canterbury fielding was first-class. Scores: — WELLINGTON.
