WELLINGTON WOOL SALES.
By Telegraph —Press Association. WELLINGTON, January 18. There were over 10,000 bales of wool offered at Wellington to-day. The quality was such that only in the minority of cases keen competition was manifested. Where the wool suited the requirements of manufacturers good prices were made, and the best kinds showed an advance of fully Jd on the December rates. Poorer conditions and inferior sorts were very much neglected. The best price of the sale was 13£ d for 22 bales of fine half-bred, sold on account of A. Neave, Pelorus SoundFifteen bales of second half-bred from the same grower made 12|d. The range of prices was as follows :—Half -breds lid to 13Jd, super, fine crossbred lid to 12£ d, medium crossbred 10Jd'*to llfd, coarse crossbred lOd to lid, coarse crossbred lOd to ll£d, inferior crossbred 8d to 9Jd, pieces and bellies 6d to 9£d, locks 4d to 5Jd, lambs, (super.) lid to ll|d, lambs (medium) 9d to lid, lambs (seedy and inferior) 6|d to B|d.
